Junior Youth Group: BLAST
BLAST is a Christian youth group for children and youth in 6th-8th grades. BLAST is an acronym for Building Lives Around Sound Truth, so we seek to find God's truth for us in His Word and teachings and develop strong ties with each other to learn how to live out our faith in our homes, churches, friendships, community, and world.
We meet each week on Monday nights during the school year from 6:00 - 7:30pm in the Church Fellowship Hall for food, fun, fellowship and explore how we can apply Christian Truth to our daily lives. We also plan activities throughout the summer and year, such as summer camp, VBS, field trips, family outings, and serving others through outreach.
our new blast leader has been announced!
My name is Nataleigh Long and I have recently been hired as the new BLAST leader.
A little information about myself:
I am a current Junior at Reinhardt University studying Digital Media Arts. I hope to use this degree in either graphic design or film production. I also have a minor in International Relations which allowed me the opportunity to study abroad in Ireland for a time.
I love music and have been a band member from Middle School to now where I play flute/piccolo with the University bands. Currently I serve as section leader in the Screaming Eagle Marching Band at Reinhardt.
I have worked with children and youth in the past. Most recently I served as a camp counselor at Camp Glisson in Dahlonega, GA over the summer. There I had the opportunity to help rising 3rd graders to high schoolers experience all the fun of summer camp while learning more about God and their personal faith.
BLAST will continue every Monday night from 6pm-7:30pm like it has in the past.
Once I have a chance to finalize the event calendar for the year I will be sure to email it you so that you can stay up-to-date with all the fun we’re going to have!
I am very excited for this coming year and look forward to meeting you all and your BLAST Youth soon!
And we had our first meeting on August 19:
We had a small turnout, with many of our group rising up to the FrontLine group, and several committed to sport practices for the first part of the school year. But it was a great meeting getting to know each other and learning ways to find some quiet time each day to spend with God:
And here are some shots of various activities we have enjoyed the last couple of years:
