BLAST is a Christian youth group for children and youth in 5th-8th grades. BLAST is an acronym for Building Lives Around Sound Truth, so we seek to find God's truth for us in His Word and teachings and develop strong ties with each other to learn how to live out our faith in our homes, churches, friendships, community, and world.

We meet each week on Monday nights during the school year from 6:00 - 7:30pm for food, fun, fellowship and explore how we can apply Christian Truth to our daily lives. We also plan activities throughout the summer and year, such as summer camp, VBS, field trips, family outings, and serving others through outreach.

Bible Study:
I have some great topics for our Bible Studies this year and am looking forward to leading the group in discussions that will include: The Power of Words, Identity, Drama Queens and Blow-up Kings, Proverbs, Hope, Guarding Your Hearts.

We are still collecting new socks and underwear for school-aged children for MUST Ministries AND are now collecting new toys for their Christmas Toy Drive. I have already delivered the socks/underwear we have collected, but this is an ongoing need. We will collect toys through November 12th!

CALENDAR: Our current season Calendar link is posted above. We have more fun and meaningful events scheduled for this year, including a fall hayride/bonfire, bowling, Spiritual Retreat, and more!

Upcoming Dates/ Events:

Ball Ground Christmas Parade Friday, November 30th

We have decided to be in the Ball Ground Christmas parade on Friday, November 30th.  We will be dressed in the costumes we will be wearing for the Live Nativity on Saturday night, December 1st.  The parade event will be an opportunity for us to advertise  (candy thrown with fliers) the Live Nativity (and our BLAST group).  I will have exact times and locations to meet for this on Monday, November 26th in my parent email.  Meanwhile, I need to know who will participate in this and the Live Nativity so I can have costumes ready.

Live Nativity at Orange Saturday, December 1st

We will host a Live Nativity with Frontline and BLAST students dressed in Biblical costumes from 6:00-8:00 PM.  There are no lines to be memorized, no acting required, other than standing in the Nativity scene with hay, animals, the Christmas story and Christmas music being played in the background.  Those coming to watch will have the opportunity to park in our parking lot,  walk down the path to the fire pit, get some hot cider or hot chocolate and make a S'More, and then come to the outdoor worship area to look upon your children and ponder the beautiful scene of our Lord entering into the world in the humble setting of a stable. That is it!  I need to know who is going to participate so I can have costumes provided.  We have some already made, but I want to make sure we have enough!  I also know that Patrick and some of his Frontline students are participating.  Please let me know this week (by Friday, November 16th). I have to go purchase material to make the costumes and then have the remaining costumes sewn!!

BLAST Christmas Party Monday, December 3rd

Bill and Mary Margaret Gregg have graciously offered to host the BLAST Christmas Party at their home (400 Ardsley Place in Woodmont). I will be sending out a SignUp Genius for finger foods for this event.  We will have a White Elephant ($5-$10 limit) for a present exchange.  I also heard something about a Christmas karaoke ;>).  The party will be the last BLAST meeting for the 2018 year.  We will resume our BLAST meetings on Monday, January 14th.

Here is the link to the BLAST Dinner Sign up for this season.
Please consider and sign up to provide dinner for one of our regular Monday night meetings.

As always, if you know of 5th-8th graders that would be interested in BLAST, please email me those email addresses!

And, Please let me know if you are included in this email group and wish to no longer receive these emails.  Also, let me let me know if you know of any parent who would like to receive these emails in the future!

In His love and service,

Lynn Outlaw
